In January of this year was the culmination of weeks and months of planning to deliver the biggest and best Treecycling collection ever!
The numbers are amazing – the Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice Treecycling campaign raised over £105K towards the care of patients with life-limiting illnesses, and their families, in Birmingham and Sandwell.
In total around 5000 trees were collected with 90 vehicles and almost 200 volunteers involved over the weekend, so it was a huge corporate and community effort.
All the trees are recycled, most as biomass fuel and, at this time of lockdown, collecting trees in bulk saved lots of individual journeys to help supporters stay at home.
During that time the Treecycling campaign has received so much support and help and had such a fantastic response from so many people.
“However you were involved, THANK YOU SO MUCH – we really could not do it without you.
Please do share this with your collection partners or colleagues who were involved and we’ll do it all again next year, hopefully with less restrictions!”
