AEMG has recently purchased a TreeTronic3 which is used to detect decay in standing trees. The TreeTronic3 will work with the Picus3 that AEMG bought a few months ago to give extra detailed information about the condition of the wood inside trees. The TreeTronic3 is a measuring device that uses electric current and voltage measurements to calculate a map of the electrical resistance properties of the cross section of a tree. The electrical resistance depends on water content, cell structures, amount of elements. All these properties change if decay is present in the tree. AEMG are one of the few companies in the UK to own this equipment.
